Kal Kaur Rai, born in Huddersfield, England is a fashion designer from Britain. Her label Kal Kaur Rai has been featured in magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Elle and worn by the likes of Victoria Beckham, Mariah Carey, Beyonce Knowles and Danni Minogue. She fell into fashion after studying for a degree in management and has no formal fahion training. She launched the label at the London Interseason Trade Show and was quickly picked up by leading independent stores. The label has since gone from strength to strength and is now stocked in more than 70 independents in the UK. In April 2004 Kal won the Young Achiever Of The Year award at the Asian Business Awards in recognition of her entrepreneurial approach to business that has seen the business evolve.
